Get Involved
With your help, we can ensure that children across Greater Portland who are at risk of going hungry in the evening, over the weekend, and during school breaks have reliable access to nourishing food at home.
Volunteer with Us
Our volunteers share our belief that even one hungry child is too many. Volunteers help us pick up and deliver food, pack bags at the warehouse, host fresh food events, organize food drives, and spread the word that Maine children and families need reliable access to healthy food. A few hours of your time can make a HUGE difference to a hungry child. Our programs would not be possible without you!

Organize a Food Drive
Community food donations help fill our school pantries, purple bags and family boxes. Individuals of all ages and organizations of all sizes have been incredibly generous in rallying their local community around a food drive, directly supporting children at risk of hunger.
We also accept donations of fresh garden produce during the growing season!

Attend an Event
Community fundraising events help support our food assistance programs while spreading the word about the prevalence of child hunger in Greater Portland.
If you own or work at a local business or belong to a community group and would love to partner with us on a fundraising event or food drive, we’d love to hear from you! Send a note to info@mainelockerproject.org.
